Question VW Touareg fan help.

Hi to all, anyone know anything about Touareg cooling fans, there are two and the big one is running all the time, even with the key and engine off and cold .

Anyway i pulled the big fuse for now, but anyone know where to look for the fault ?, it's a TDI on 05 plate, thanks for any help you can give .

Hi Grease Monkey, they get trouble with the fan module, i am thinking that is where you will find the trouble.

The module is in front of the fan motor, big red is B+ in and brown is the ground, the two small cables are the drivers.

A test canbe made on the two small cables at the plug, motor running, B+ on the one and 10v or more on the other and the fan should not be running.

Stop the motor and turn off the key, pull the plug and test in the fan module end of the plug, with ohm meter over the two big cable terms, you should have open circ:, if it's 0 to 5 ohms or not open the fan module is faulty.

You can also make a test by plugging from one to the other, but you will need to cut off the tag on the fan plug to fit it, if it's still running and the other is not the fan module is faulty.
