I had a royal enfield bullet for a while

the 500 es in trials trim converted to hand gear change by the lads at watsonian, I had a real bad time with the dealer when some guarentee work needed doing after it siezed up the 1st time I road it

they told me they had contacted watsonian & they had told them not to take it appart, so I went to one of the classic shows that I knew watsonian would be at ready to vent & as soon as I told them it had siezed they said "oh, has it? that'll have to come appart that will" so the dealer had obviously lied to my face

it turned out to be nothing but trouble & the dealers wouldn't do anything to fix it, the thing cost me hundreds of pounds in replacment parts that could have been avoided if the thing had been looked at in the 1st place

the guys at watsonianput me in touch with another dealer who was prepared to do the work bit it was stolen a few days later by a group of kids who just set fire to it & pushed it in the local cut & to be honest I think the theives did me a big favour
I sold it to a mate who got it going again & even managed to get some of the guarentee work done even though he was the second owner

it turned out to be the left hand crank jurnal badly aligned running out of true & he managed to get a new crank out of them when I couldn't get squat

I definitely won't be getting another royal enfield anytime soon that's for sure

Don't you mean Royal Oilfield, got banned from a few friends pads after my Connie dropped a few leaks on their drives. Had a number of Crusaders when 16 but well pissed off with headgaskets blowing all the time. Tooooo much shaved off I always wanted an Interceptor but never had enough cash. The only decent Enfield of any interest to me now is the V twin on Youtube mmmmmmmmmmmm the derv model tho appeals to my Scots thinking - cheap to run
