Lightbulb New BMW packing clutch, how too?

Newer BMW's you may find that the clutch has a packing, the pressure plate is held pulled in, what ever you do don't remove it, the units need a fitting tool.

The kit however is a high price for just one clutch fit.

To get round this, fit the clutch unit, with plate, right way round, (flywheel side seen on plate), do up the bolts round the pressure plate, the disc will be seen to move around free between the flywheel and pressure plate with bolts done up.

Remove the centre packing with large allen key, the disc will now be held in drive, but not centre, back off the bolts round the pressure plate till you can just move the disc, eye up the disc by looking down centre and moving it to centre with screwdriver.

When happy do up the pressure plate bolts and refit the gear box
