wow that was one long train, out in the mid west where things are flat some of our freight trains are over a mile long with two or three engines. really screws up traffic at crossings when they cross.

Yep, GWR Manor Class is great, I would like to travel on the Flying Scotsmen 1st Class with LB all the way from London to Edinburgh or perhaps even the Orient Express, or even try out a Sleeper train, but I don't think they have Sleeper trains anymore.

I just think it would be romantic

I have heard they are thinking about opening up some of the old tracks that Beeching closed in the 60s, I guess that may be hard as a lot if the land has been built over, we do have a disused track near us called the Downslink. The trains used to run from Guildford down to Brighton

You can travel on a sleeper train. Caledonian Sleeper from Euston to Scotland and also Paddington to Penzance. Not the cheapest was to do the journey it must be said.

Might be fun though. LB thought they had stopped Sleeper trains, yeah I think I'd like to travel to Penzance
