it's sad when small shops close probably due to the internet. when internet shopping started you think someone would have been smart enough to see that it would effect the stores as well. all store owners should have gotten together and decided to make internet prices higher than the store price so as to keep the stores open but as we know people are not smart just greedy.
heard recently that a billionaire offered toys-r-us 675 million for all their stores and they turned it down they would rather close all US stores then sell.

Is it the same on the high street where you are? Here it's just been said that M&S, the big clothes shops will close 100 of there shops, Toy-R-Us have gone here in the UK, and all of Maplin Elec: shops as well

companies need to get smart and make internet prices higher than store prices to force people into going to the store.

It's not an Internet trouble... Downtowns started to loose shops about 25 Years ago. Americain say "No Parking, No busyness", i rather agree.... Tourist areas excepted, shopping areas kill downtown shops, Internet attacks shopping areas.

In Hereford it's the small shops that close, now the big shops are hit too and closing, it's more the small shops that make up the towns high street, and it looks bad when they close.
I noted 9 shops had closed in Hereford in one street as I went the the bank a day or so ago.

I found it sad when we lose a shop as this one, we may well never see one like it again.

Really the high rates killed off the shops in Hereford and the internet took over, it all went down hill from there.

It's the same here - the little shop where I bought Nicole's elegant necklace has closed.
