Ok a little help the star is seen in the photo, in a 1954 film.
Herefordshire-born, spent more than 16 years making the trek to Manchester every Sunday to perform alongside Jimmy Clitheroe.

Thanks to the additional information I have it now. The girl is Diana Day who featured in "The Belles of St Trinians" in 1954. She went on to play Jimmy Clitheroe's sister Susan in the radio series The Clitheroe Kid which ran from 1958 until 1972.

There was a whole series of films featuring a fictional girls school called St. Trinians made in the 1950s and 1960s. The pupils were somewhat unruly to say the least! There was a remake more recently which was nothing like the original.
